Huawei Mate X3 Specs Leak Ahead of Launch: Galaxy Z Fold 4 Rival. Huawei is set to launch its new foldable smartphone, the Huawei Mate X3, alongside its flagship Huawei P60 tomorrow, March 23. However, much of the phone’s specifications have already been leaked by reputable sources. Digital Chat Station, a reliable leaker, has revealed that the Huawei Mate X3 features a 7.8-inch foldable screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, wireless charging, IPX8 water resistance, and a triple-lens camera setup that includes a 50MP primary sensor and a periscope zoom lens. The hinge of the device is also said to allow it to open at multiple angles.
Earlier leaks also suggest that the Huawei Mate X3 will have a 6.45-inch OLED cover screen, a 4,800mAh battery with 66W charging, and 12GB of RAM with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. However, the phone is not expected to have 5G capabilities due to the ongoing sanctions against Huawei.
While these specifications suggest that the Huawei Mate X3 will be a powerful device, it is likely to be a step behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagships, such as the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. Nonetheless, the Huawei Mate X3 is set to rival the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 with its hinge technology, camera setup, and other features.
It is still unclear what the price of the Huawei Mate X3 will be or when it will be available globally. The launch on March 23 appears to be for China only, but a global launch may follow soon after. Despite not having 5G capabilities, the Huawei Mate X3 could still be a top contender among the best foldable phones if the price is right.
