Xiaomi’s Potential Competitor to Pixel 7 Revealed Ahead of Launch

Xiaomi is gearing up for a global unveiling event scheduled for September 1, during which it plans to introduce its latest offerings, the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro. While various leaks have surfaced over the past few weeks, a recent report from a reputable source has divulged a comprehensive list of specifications and price points.

According to a report by the French outlet Dealabs, the Xiaomi 13T series is expected to share several key attributes. These include an IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, a 5,000mAh battery for extended usage, a 6.67-inch OLED screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz (displaying at 2,712 x 1,220 pixels), a 20MP front-facing camera to capture stunning selfies, and a versatile triple-camera setup on the back. This camera system is reported to comprise a main 50MP IMX707 sensor, a secondary 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom capabilities, and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. This configuration aligns with previous leaks regarding the 13T Pro model.

While the Xiaomi 13T appears promising, the Pro variant is anticipated to offer enhanced capabilities. Allegedly, the Pro model will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus flagship processor, accompanied by up to 16GB of RAM for seamless multitasking. Furthermore, it is expected to offer storage options of up to 1TB, ensuring ample space for all your files. Notably, the Pro version will also support 120W wired charging for rapid replenishment. In contrast, the standard 13T is rumored to feature a Dimensity 8200 Ultra chipset, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, and 67W wired charging.

Pricing Details for the Xiaomi 13T Series

In terms of pricing, Dealabs indicates that the Xiaomi 13T with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will have a starting price of £549 in the UK and €649 in France. Although specific pricing for all variants of the Xiaomi 13T Pro remains undisclosed, the report does mention that the 12GB/512GB variant will retail for £699 in the UK, while the 16GB/1TB model will be priced at €999 in France. Presumably, the 512GB version will carry a price tag of €799 in France, assuming a pricing structure similar to that of the standard 13T.

In any case, it appears that the Xiaomi 13T could present a compelling alternative to the Pixel 7, which is priced at £599/€649, if the reported pricing is indeed accurate. While the 13T lacks certain features such as wireless charging and Google’s software, it makes up for it with its significantly faster charging speed, IP68 rating for durability, a telephoto camera for versatile photography, and a larger battery capacity. The complete set of details will be unveiled during the official launch event, leaving tech enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the unveiling.
