The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro is set to launch locally with SIRIM certification.
It is possible that Xiaomi may introduce the Smart Band 8 Pro, one of its wearables, to the international market. Only the non-Pro version of the smart band has made its way to Malaysia thus far; however, this could soon change as the Pro has been found on multiple certification databases, including Malaysia’s. The smart band was first introduced in China back in August.
TheTechOutlook found the device last week while searching the SIRIM database. It goes by the model number M2333B1 and the marketing name Smart Band 8 Pro. The model number is still the same, even though the marketing name was changed a day later. With this and its debut on the IMDA platform in Singapore, the wearable is anticipated to launch globally in the near future.
The 1.74-inch rectangular AMOLED display on the Smart Band 8 Pro has a peak brightness of 600 nits and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. It has a built-in GPS system, can withstand up to five meters of water, and a health sensor that tracks your blood oxygen levels, heart rate, stress levels, menstrual cycle, and sleep patterns.
The band has a 297 mAh capacity for battery life, and the manufacturer states that it can run for up to 14 days. Although the local price is unknown at this time, we can anticipate it to be in the range of CNY399 (~RM260), which is the price tag in China.
