WhatsApp’s Impending Makeover: A UI Redesign Revelation

WhatsApp may soon undergo a significant transformation in its appearance.

If there is one aspect of WhatsApp that has remained unwavering over time, it is its user interface design. For several years, it has remained virtually unaltered. However, the latest beta release of the world’s most widely used messaging application hints at a substantial overhaul.

WhatsApp is currently deploying version 2.23.18.18 through the Google Play Beta Program. According to WABetaInfo, this beta version conceals a substantial redesign that introduces multiple modifications to the user interface.

One of the initial alterations pertains to the top bar, which exchanges its former green hue for a pristine white shade. Another modification to the top bar involves a fresh typographic style for the WhatsApp logo, accentuating it with a verdant tint.

Subsequently, there is a revamped bottom bar, housing chats, status updates, community interactions, and calls. However, this change was initially observed in a preceding update dating back to June, within the Android WhatsApp beta version 2.23.13.16.

Another noteworthy enhancement is the introduction of filters within the chat list. It appears that users will now have the option to categorize conversations based on criteria such as all, unread, personal, or business interactions. Similar to the bottom bar, this feature was initially identified in a prior iteration of the application, specifically in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.14.17.

Additionally, it appears that WhatsApp is poised to implement analogous modifications to the iOS version of the application, as reported by the outlet. This development should bring both iterations of the application closer together in terms of their visual aesthetics and functionalities.

As of now, the specific timeline for the rollout of this redesign remains undisclosed. This revelation comes a mere fortnight after WhatsApp introduced its latest feature, HD photo support, which is presently accessible for both Android and iOS users.
