Samsung Pay has partnered with Hana Financial Group to enhance digital payment experiences for students across South Korea. Under the new agreement, mobile ID functions, such as student and employee ID cards, will be activated, overseas payment systems will be established, and future financial service models will be developed. The collaboration will benefit thousands of South Korean students from the 108 high schools affiliated with Hana Financial Group.
Samsung Pay Student IDs:
Student IDs will be issued to students through Samsung Pay, and if consent is given, the Samsung Pay student ID can be used in place of the physical student ID card. Students will be able to use Samsung Pay student ID to pay for meals, library use, and other services, using the barcode on their mobile device.
The issuance process for Samsung Pay student ID cards is simple, with students updating Samsung Pay and adding the student ID by registering the Hana Financial Group debit card linked to the student ID card. The digital student ID card reduces the risk of loss compared to the existing physical ID.
Samsung Pay plans to expand the use of its student ID cards for university students as well in the future. The collaboration between Samsung Pay and Hana Financial Group demonstrates how digital technology can enhance financial services and simplify everyday life.
Samsung Pay is one of the leading mobile payment services in the world, and this partnership with Hana Financial Group further strengthens its presence in South Korea. The new collaboration is expected to make life easier for students by offering a more convenient and secure payment method.
