In more than 5 years, Realme has shipped over 200 million phones.
Since its founding a little more than five years ago, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Realme has shipped over 200 million phones, marking a noteworthy accomplishment. In the second quarter of this year, the company—which is a division of BBK Electronics—reached the milestone.
After Vivo, Huawei, Samsung, and Apple, Realme is the fifth-fastest smartphone manufacturer to accomplish this milestone, according to data from Counterpoint Research.
Realme has most notably reached this milestone with the majority of its exports going to markets outside of China. In addition, the business has established itself as a major competitor in the cutthroat smartphone market thanks to its quick expansion, placing it among the leading smartphone brands.
Realme’s Chief Marketing Officer, Xu Qi, took delight in the company’s achievements, saying, “We started out when there were more than 700 smartphone brands worldwide. The fact that we have spent the last five years among the top 10 brands in the world makes us incredibly proud.
In addition, Counterpoint Research data shows that there were only about 250 phone brands in September, down from over 700 in 2017. Realme’s ability to not only survive but also thrive in this competitive market demonstrates its strategy.
With the debut of the Realme GT 5 Pro in the near future, Realme is now preparing to fight in the luxury smartphone market. This phone will be among the first to use Sony’s new Lytia camera sensor along with Qualcomm’s most recent flagship CPU, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
In contrast, Xiaomi recently unveiled the Xiaomi 14 Pro, which uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 as well, underscoring the fierce competition and technological advancements in the smartphone market. Realme is still a dynamic player to monitor in the constantly changing smartphone industry even as it celebrates its accomplishment.
This significant achievement demonstrates Realme’s dedication to providing high-quality products and its aptitude for navigating a changing industry landscape, paving the way for more successes down the road.
