Finally, Google Search optimizes its design to fit the needs of contemporary smartphones.
The search bar on the most recent stable version of the Google app for Android is positioned at the top of the screen, making it difficult for users to use one-handedly on smartphones with large screens. Apparently, the business is trying to find a solution for this problem. Google is testing a bottom-mounted search bar in the most recent beta version of the Google app (v14.48.26.29.arm64), according to a new report from TheSpAndroid.
The screenshots that the magazine posted show that the search bar is positioned directly above the navigation buttons. With this update, it is now simpler to use the search bar with one hand on large-display devices. There is currently no word on Google’s intentions to update the app’s stable version to the new layout. In the next weeks, the corporation will launch it for public use if it chooses to move forward.
The time has come for businesses and developers to shift the navigation buttons, search bars, and other user interface elements from the top to the bottom of the screen, as the average size of smartphone displays continues to rise. Despite the fact that the screens on even the largest Apple iPhone models are smaller than those on some Android smartphones, like the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the majority of iOS apps already adhere to this design concept.
