Galaxy A55 Features: Fast Charging and Connectivity Insights

Get insights into the Galaxy A55, from fast charging capabilities to connectivity features, and anticipate Samsung's next premium mid-range offering.

Details on the Galaxy A55’s rapid charging and connection were disclosed.

Now that the Galaxy S24 series is on sale worldwide, Samsung is probably focusing on its upcoming high-quality mid-range phone, the Galaxy A55. The Galaxy A54 was revealed in March of the previous year, and if Samsung doesn’t alter its intentions, the A55 might be announced in under two months.

Plenty of information about the Galaxy A55 has already been circulating online in recent weeks, including some of its specifications revealed through different certifications and benchmarks. Currently, the Galaxy A55 has received certification from the FCC, which has verified information that was already known about the phone.

The FCC certification verifies that the Galaxy A55 is compatible with 25W charging. Samsung is also expected to utilize the identical 5,000 mAh battery found in the A53 and A55. The FCC has also disclosed several expected details, including the inclusion of two SIM slots, NFC, and support for Wi-Fi 6.

The Galaxy A54 was Samsung’s second phone in the mid-range category to have a Wi-Fi 6 connection, and there won’t be an upgrade to Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 this year. Wi-Fi 7 wasn’t even something we were hoping to see on Samsung’s mid-range phones, since even the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ are only equipped with Wi-Fi 6E due to the absence of Wi-Fi 7 support in the Exynos 2400 chip that runs them.

The Galaxy A55 will be equipped with the Exynos 1480, Samsung’s initial CPU for mid-range devices, which will feature a GPU built on AMD’s RDNA graphics architecture. Samsung didn’t perform optimally with the Exynos 2200, their initial high-end chip featuring an AMD GPU, but we are hopeful that the Exynos 1480 will not encounter any problems.

The Galaxy A55 is expected to run Android 14 with One UI 6.1 as its default operating system. However, it is uncertain whether any of the AI features found in the Galaxy S24 will be included in this mid-range device.
