Honor CEO: It is impossible to return to Huawei
Honor CEO Zhao Ming stated that it is difficult to return to Huawei because the company aims to do something distinct and provide healthy competition to the smartphone market.
Ming’s newest remark on Huawei occurred during the Honor V Purse launch event in China. In response to a media question, he stated that Huawei is Honor’s most respected and anticipated competition.
Honor CEO believes his firm will be able to compete with Huawei in terms of inventive strength. This type of rivalry will energize the industry.
Mr. Ming then denied rumors of Honor reuniting with its former owner, Huawei, adding that such a merger is unthinkable. He also explained why he made this statement.
“The best tribute to Honor’s past identity is to use the best products to compete with Huawei and turn itself into its strongest competitor,” Ming added.
He went on to say that Huawei’s comeback to the smartphone sector is more active and has reawakened customer interest in new smartphone releases. This is remarkable because it has not occurred in a long time.
Zhao also provided an example, stating that when a powerful opponent emerges, you have two options. The first option is to join the opposing team. When this occurs, the competition becomes less appealing.
In the second option, you transform yourself into a formidable opponent and compete against that opponent. This will strengthen the competition and inspire everyone to compete in the same spirit. As a result, the return of Honor to Huawei would stifle the smartphone industry’s advancement.
Zhao also indicated his eagerness to compete with Huawei. “Doing something extremely difficult can excite the Honor team.” He continued by noting that the greatest way to honor Honor’s history is to create a strong product that can compete with Huawei.
Huawei and Honor:
Honor was a Huawei subsidiary until 2020 when the corporation sold Honor to a Chinese business group. This move occurred when Huawei was under enormous financial strain as a result of the US ban.
Despite that, Honor embarked on a new adventure in smartphones and other areas, with a restructured supply chain. The company also garnered a lot of traction in the sector.
During several public media conferences, Honor CEO tackled questions about Huawei and answered them succinctly. He recently commended Huawei on making a strong comeback with the Huawei Mate 60 series.
