The phone application on the iPhone will be subject to a series of enhancements accompanying the advent of iOS 17, encompassing a refined aesthetic that relocates the hang-up button to the lower right corner of the display, adjacent to its fellow functions. The button currently occupies an isolated space at the lower center of the phone application, beneath the controls for muting, keypad access, or adding another call.
The fresh call interface, already accessible for trial in a developer’s beta edition, has ignited robust reactions among iOS users across social media platforms: One user tweeted, “iOS 17 features the FaceTime control in the former location of the end call button. Muscle memory, alas, falls prey.”
