Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra may come with a custom chipset and IP68 water resistance
Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra with performance and durability upgrades. Noted leaker Ice Universe revealed that the upcoming premium tablet will feature a custom chipset, a potential increase in base RAM, and IP68 water resistance. The device is expected to run on the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor as the Galaxy S23 series. The previous model offered up to 16GB of RAM, but the new generation may start with that amount. There is no confirmation of additional models with increased RAM.
The most exciting upgrade could be the IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, which previous generations did not have. The Apple iPad Pro already has this rating. However, several identical specs from the previous model will remain, including screen and body size, display resolution, and battery life. The device may be slightly heavier than the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra by approximately 11 grams.
Hardware Leak Details:
While this leak focuses on hardware, there is no information about any new software changes. Samsung is expected to reveal the tablet at a late summer Unpacked event later this year. The market for Android tablets may not be as strong as it is for smartphones, but Samsung has dominated this sector, providing a range of devices for various needs. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, released last year, was a large and capable tablet designed to provide laptop-class productivity.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is expected to retain several identical specs from the previous model, including screen and body size, display resolution, and battery life. However, it may be slightly heavier than its predecessor. There is no information on new software changes yet, but the tablet is expected to be unveiled at a late summer Unpacked event later this year.
