SAMSUNG GALAXY S23 FE PHONE SPECIFICATIONS REVEALED – ABSENCE OF SNAPDRAGON VARIANT

Samsung is renowned for unveiling a Fan Edition (FE) iteration of its flagship smartphones, and the Galaxy S23 FE upholds this tradition. While scant information is currently available regarding this phone, a recent Twitter post by @Tech_Reve sheds light on this device. The foremost revelation is that the device will employ Samsung’s proprietary Exynos 2200 chip, as no Snapdragon version will be offered. SamMyFans reports that Samsung’s decision to adopt the Exynos 2200 SoC stems from a desire to curtail costs while maintaining profitability.

Beyond the chip, @Tech_Reve contends that the device will boast 6.4 Gbps LPDDR5 6/8 GB of RAM. Accompanying the RAM is a 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. As for the camera prowess, the aforementioned source asserts that the device will feature a 50MP 1.0um GN3 primary camera. Furthermore, an 8MP 3x telephoto lens (1.0um Hi-347) and a 12MP ultra wide-angle (1.12um IMX258) camera will be employed.

    DESIGN

No leaked renders of the Galaxy S23 FE have surfaced thus far. However, the design of the Galaxy S23 provides valuable insights into what can be expected. All three Galaxy S23 models boast a similar design, with the rear cameras vertically aligned along the left side of the phone. If Samsung adheres to its previous pattern with the FE models, we can anticipate that the display size of the Galaxy S23 FE will fall between that of the standard 6.1-inch model and the 6.6-inch Plus variant.

    HARDWARE

According to Twitter informant Connor, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE may feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC. Nevertheless, other sources indicate that the phone will be powered by the Exynos 2200 processor, previously utilized in Samsung’s S22 lineup in Europe. This chipset offers flagship performance but will be two years old upon the phone’s release. One of the notable upgrades for the S23 FE could be the inclusion of a 50MP rear camera. Unlike the S20 FE and S21 FE, which employed the same 12MP rear camera as the standard S20 and S21 models, Samsung’s decision to equip the (non-Ultra) Galaxy S22 and S23 with a 50-megapixel sensor renders it fitting for the S23 FE to receive a similar enhancement. The Galaxy S23 FE will retain the 4,500 mAh battery found in its predecessors, likely supporting 25W fast charging. Consequently, it will offer more battery capacity compared to the regular S23.

    PRICE AND RELEASE DATE

SisaJournal reports that the Galaxy S23 FE is anticipated to be priced approximately 20-to-30% lower than the base $799 model. The Galaxy S23 FE is slated for launch in Q4 2023, encompassing the period between October and December. While many aspects of the Galaxy S23 FE remain shrouded in mystery, it appears to be an auspicious phone, featuring significant upgrades over its predecessors.
