OnePlus 12R will utilize UFS 3.1 storage across all models, as confirmed
All editions of the OnePlus 12R, including the 256GB storage variant, come with UFS 3.1 storage instead of the previously stated UFS 4.0 standard. On its community platform, OnePlus President and COO Kinder Liu posted a public statement acknowledging the incident. The OnePlus 12R’s official specification page has been recently updated to show the use of the UFS 3.1 storage standard.
Below is the official statement from OnePlus.
At the time of the OnePlus 12R release, we introduced Trinity Engine, a fresh collection of software algorithms that ensure the efficient and seamless performance of your phone’s memory and storage over an extended period of time. Because of a mistake, we mentioned that the storage improved by Trinity Engine would be UFS 4.0 in some versions. I can now confirm that the storage in all versions of the OnePlus 12R is still improved by Trinity Engine, but it is UFS 3.1.
The UFS 3.1 storage in your phone is as fast as the storage found in phones such as the OnePlus 11 Series, ensuring that your phone will maintain excellent performance when reading from and writing to memory. The OnePlus 12R also includes all the new Trinity Engine capabilities we revealed at launch, such as speedier app opening and the ability to keep applications open for up to 72 hours. It underwent thorough testing using UFS 3.1 storage. I can also verify that the OnePlus 12R received complete certification from TUV SUD using UFS 3.1 memory, and as a result, it is still guaranteed to remain smooth for 48 months. Your OnePlus 12R will remain speedy and seamless for a long time to come.
On behalf of our staff, I would like to express our apologies to everyone for this mistake. We are still very enthusiastic about the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R and we hope you will enjoy your device when it is delivered to you. Certainly, I comprehend that some of you who have bought or reserved a OnePlus 12R may wish to have further discussions with our team, and I would suggest reaching out to our Customer Service team through the usual methods. Kinder Liu, the President and Chief Operating Officer of OnePlus
