Nokia G42 5G Listed, Nokia Venom, and G22 Share the Same Protective Screen
Numerous Nokia smartphones have prematurely surfaced this year, escaping the grasp of Nokia Mobile prior to their scheduled debuts. One of these devices goes by the codename Venom. In mid-March, Hikari Calyx leaked details about this phone, shedding light on some of its key specifications. The Nokia Venom, bearing the model number TA-1529, boasts a potential 16 MP front camera and a triple rear camera setup comprising a 64 MP lens alongside two 2 MP lenses. Powered by the Unisoc T606 processor, it combines 4 GB of RAM with 128 GB of internal storage. Moreover, it features a display with a water drop notch.
Now, a listing from a retailer discloses that the Nokia Sunfire (G22) and Nokia Venom share the same official screen protector provided by PanzerGlass. This implies that these two phones possess striking similarities when it comes to their overall design.
Additionally, we encounter two model numbers, TA-1517 and TA-1524, which, according to the official user guide, are not associated with the Nokia G22. Nonetheless, they appear in the Bluetooth listing of the G22 with an identical description: Unisoc T606, Android12, 6.5 (6.517) HD+ 20:9 1600*720 V-notch, 90Hz. It remains unclear whether any connection exists between these models and the Nokia Venom.
Now, let us turn our attention to the device that will introduce the 4# sub-series within Nokia Mobile’s naming convention, encompassing the C, G, X, and T series that the company embraced in 2021. Interestingly, even the original naming scheme employed by the company did not include a 4-numbered series, as the number ‘4’ is deemed unlucky in Chinese culture. This changed in 2019 when the Nokia 4.2 broke that tradition. It appears that a similar shift is happening once again with the impending arrival of the Nokia G42 5G.
Judging by its name, this device may very well become the most affordable 5G offering from Nokia. According to a retailer, the Nokia G42 5G will be available in Grey and Purple colors, boasting a memory configuration of 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Sporting a 720 x 1612 p display, the device was also observed running on Android 13. As for the remaining details, the company has chosen to keep them under wraps for now.
Nokia Mobile seems to have an array of projects in the works, including the Nokia 2660 Flip in new color variants, the Nokia Venom, the Nokia G42 5G, and three smartphones tailored for the US market. While leaks have been circulating for a while now, it seems that the company intends to extend the anticipation a bit longer.
