GMK’s Upcoming Intel 14/Ultra Mini-PCs with Powerful Integrated GPU

GMK is preparing to launch Intel 14/Ultra Mini-PCs equipped with an integrated GPU that rivals the performance of the GTX 1650 Ti/RTX 3050 series.

GMKtec, a Chinese manufacturer specializing in compact computer systems using Intel and AMD hardware, has recently showcased its latest release featuring the Ryzen 9 7940HS APU. This demonstrates that GMK is at the forefront of introducing the newest APUs from both CPU vendors. Remarkably, GMK is now setting the pace ahead of many other brands with the confirmation of their forthcoming Intel 14/Ultra systems.

The company’s collaboration with Intel China was officially announced on the social platform Weibo, although specific details remain scarce. However, it has been revealed that GMK will introduce both Intel 14 and Ultra systems, incorporating the Raptor Lake Refresh and Meteor Lake products. As we are aware, the former will adhere to the established naming convention, exclusively utilizing the 14th Gen Core series for the updated Raptor Lake S/HX chips.

Conversely, the Meteor Lake processors will make their debut with a fresh branding approach by Intel, departing from the familiar ‘i3/i5/i7/i9’ tiers. Following AMD’s lead, Intel will adopt a simpler naming scheme, such as Core 3, Core 5, and Core 7. This new naming convention also signifies the potential blurring of distinctions between different architectures. In the context of Intel’s next-generation mobile series, the Raptor Lake Refresh U will also be part of the new Core branding, but this won’t be the case for RPL-S and HX. The specific choice made by GMK for their new systems remains undisclosed at present.

GMK has further confirmed that their systems will feature integrated graphics surpassing the capabilities of the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti and approaching those of the RTX 3050, with power consumption reaching up to 35W. As previously known, the Core Ultra variant of Meteor Lake will showcase the more robust Xe-LPG architecture inherited from the discrete Arc series.
