Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 Camera Specs Leaked Ahead of Launch
Tipster Yogesh Brar has leaked the camera specs for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphones on Twitter.
According to the leak, the camera specs for both devices are similar to their predecessors. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is said to have a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP telephoto camera.
The focal length of the telephoto camera has not been disclosed, but it is believed to be a 3x camera similar to last year’s Fold, rather than a 5x or 10x shooter.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5, on the other hand, is expected to feature a dual 12MP rear camera system comprising a 12MP main shooter and a 12MP ultrawide camera. There is no telephoto camera in this setup.
The good news is that both devices will come with new image sensors. However, it is unclear whether this applies to all the cameras or just specific ones. Larger sensors would particularly improve low-light image quality.
Aside from the camera, Brar claims that the new Galaxy foldable will also have an improved hinge design, larger outer displays (presumably with thinner bezels for the Z Fold 5), and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset.
Samsung’s foldable does not raise the bar for smartphone photography, as the company’s Ultra phones tend to lead in this regard. Unfortunately, this leak suggests that the new Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 may not change this trend.
