BENGALURU, February 8, 2024 (Reuters): On Thursday, Microsoft Teams Up with Sarvam AI will assist in the advancement of voice-based generative artificial intelligence (AI) applications by partnering with Indian company Sarvam AI.
Sarvam AI is developing GenAI models focused on Indian languages and context, as stated in a press release. However, specific financial details of the cooperation were not immediately disclosed.
The business, whose founders previously created AI models at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras-based research group AI4Bharat (#AI4BHARAT), has secured money from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Peak XV Partners, and Khosla Ventures.
As part of the Microsoft collaboration, Sarvam will offer its Indic voice LLMs on Microsoft’s cloud platform, Azure.
