Meta reduces prices for the Quest 2 headset permanently.
Several months after the release of Meta’s Quest 3 headset, the firm has decided to permanently reduce the price of its earlier Quest 2 headset by $50. The price of the 128GB version decreases from $299 to $249, while the price of the 256GB version decreases from $349 to $299. The headset has been available at increased prices since Black Friday. Nevertheless, Meta has chosen to establish these prices as permanent.
Reduced prices for Quest 2 accessories
Alongside the reduced price of the Quest 2 headset, Meta is also providing a variety of Quest 2 accessories at a discounted rate:
Quest 2 Elite Strap with battery: Reduced from $119.99 to $89.99
Quest 2 Elite Strap: Reduced from $59.99 to $49.99
Quest 2 Carrying Case: Reduced from $59.99 to $44.99
Quest 2 Active Pack: Price reduced from $69.99 to $59.99
Quest 2 Fit Pack: Priced at $39.99, reduced from $49.99.
In July 2022, Meta increased the cost of the Quest 2 headset by $100, raising it from $299.99 to $399.99. In June of last year, when the firm initially introduced the Quest 3, it reduced the price of the Quest 2 headset to $299.99 to potentially increase sales.
Although Meta provides over 500 gaming titles for VR, it reached a major agreement last year when Roblox released its game for the Quest headset through the Meta Quest Store.
Quest 2: A Less Expensive Choice for Virtual Reality
The reduced price of the Quest 2 may attract people to purchase the headset and experience VR rather than invest $500 in the Quest 3. The Quest 2 offers a more budget-friendly option for those looking to get started with virtual reality gaming.
