The Xiaomi 14 Pro is rumored to receive the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, accompanied by a substantial battery. While the Xiaomi 13 series is still relatively new, speculations and leaks have already emerged regarding its successor. As per a post on the Chinese social network Weibo and information from the renowned tipster, DigitalChatStation, the Xiaomi 14 Pro is expected to sport a 5,000mAh battery equipped with 90W–120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
You may wonder about the two different charging speeds mentioned. Well, there are rumors suggesting that two variants of the Xiaomi 14 Pro will be introduced: one with a curved display and the aforementioned 120W fast charging (primarily intended for the Chinese market), and another with a flat screen featuring 90W charging. Alternatively, it is plausible that the standard Xiaomi 14 model will incorporate a flat screen, while the Pro version will boast a curved display.
The post also presents a bold prediction regarding the chipset powering Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship. The SM8650 denotes the model name of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. While information about this new Qualcomm silicon is limited, rumors suggest it will offer clock speeds of up to 3.7 GHz and a slightly revised architecture featuring a 1+5+2 core configuration, deviating from the familiar 1+4+3 setup found in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
In terms of the camera on the Xiaomi 14 Pro, there is a speculative tidbit from 91Mobiles. According to the report, the phone will employ a novel WLG High-Lens sensor—a hybrid glass-plastic lens—which purportedly enables a wider aperture and more precise focus. However, it is important to exercise caution as it is still early days, and these details should be taken with a pinch of skepticism.
