The recent update to Google’s Phone app introduces a solitary Protection Level menu, streamlining the array of Call Screen options that were formerly available. Users are now bestowed with three protection level choices: Basic, Medium, and Maximum. Through the Basic protection level, users can solely decline known spam calls. The Medium option not only rebuffs spam calls but also scrutinizes suspicious ones. On the other hand, the Maximum protection level enables the screening of all unfamiliar numbers.
The new Protection Level menu offers a more unambiguous and less daunting experience for users, especially those who are novices to Call Screen. Although the update is currently being rolled out to select users, the feedback thus far has been limited, with only one report on Reddit.
