Google Fi Finally Brings eSIM Support To These iPhones
One of the things that have made setting up is Google Fi Finally Brings eSIM Support To These iPhones.
New smartphones effortless and more convenient for users has been the advent of the eSIM that does away with the requirement for the minor (and easily) carrier nanoSIM card.
Apple was one of the premature adopters of this technology, and all of its modern smartphones use this feature.
Some iPhone users who desiderated to get benefit SIMs with Google Fi were disabled to do so because Google did not uphold the tech on the newer crop of iPhone models, but that has now exchanged
Google Fi has declared that iPhone subscribers would now be proficient to use eSIM tech on the following compatible iPhone models:
- iPhone XR
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XS Max
- iPhone 11
- iPhone 11 Pro
- iPhone 11 Pro Max
While Google does not individually call out the new iPhone SE that was only declared currently, that device does support eSIM and presumably would support Google Fi, but that is not confirmed yet.
For owners of the other devices that are acknowledged to be compatible, joining Google Fi and setting up the iPhone demand them to use the swift setup feature and eSIM activation. They would then be demanded to install the mobile application for the device and perform an iOS compatibility check. Reports specify that iOS 12.1 or higher is demanded.
Once that setup is completed, users would requisite to go to the swift setup website on another computer.
There, a QR code would be shown that can be scanned by the iPhone, and the setup process would be processed on the mobile device.
For now, this support is only available for new users who sign up for Google Fi. Current subscribers are not proficient to activate iPhones using eSIM.
Google aforesaid that this feature is currently rolling out and might not be accessible for all users.
In other news, with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic affecting the country hard, Google Fi has responded by increasing data limits for its customers.
