WhatsApp introduces “keep” feature for users to save select disappearing messages

    WhatsApp Keep Disappearing message

WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging platform, has launched a new feature that allows selecting Android beta testers to save selected messages from disappearing chat windows. The disappearing message feature was introduced by WhatsApp a few years ago as a way to provide more privacy options to users. With the new feature update, users will be able to prevent messages from being automatically deleted from their chat history, giving them more control over their conversations. According to Wabetainfo, a website that tracks all the developments around WhatsApp, the new update will add a new bookmark icon in the disappearing chat window. This icon will let users select and bookmark certain messages that they want to keep from disappearing. Similarly, users will be able to unsave messages by choosing the “unkeep” icon, and the message will disappear permanently.

    WhatsApp Introduces Keep Messages:

The ability to keep messages from disappearing will be useful for users who want to save important messages from the disappearing chat message. WhatsApp already allows users to disable disappearing message timers, but the new keep feature gives more control over chats and helps users to save only those messages that are important. However, the keep message feature is currently available only for select Android beta testers who have installed the latest version of WhatsApp beta from the Play Store. The feature will be released for more people in the coming weeks.

    Disappearing Messages More Durations Added:

In addition to the new keep feature, WhatsApp is also planning to add 15 new durations to set for the disappearing message option. Currently, the platform only allows users to set durations for disappearing messages from three options: 24 hours, 7 days, and 90 days. However, WhatsApp will soon add 15 new time duration options for disappearing messages under the “More options” menu. The new update will allow users to set up a timer for disappearing messages from 1 year, 180 days, 60 days, 30 days, 21 days, 14 days, 6 days, 5 days, 4 days, 3 days, 2 days, 12 hours, 6 hours, 3 hours, and 1 hour.

The new features are part of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to provide more privacy and control options to its users. With the increasing concerns around data privacy, messaging platforms like WhatsApp have become more important than ever. The new keep features and the additional time duration options for disappearing messages will be welcomed by users who want more control over their conversations and their privacy. WhatsApp is expected to release new features for all users in the coming weeks.
