What types of information do we collect about you?

We collect and process your personal information when you interact with us by filling out forms on our websites, by phone, email or otherwise. This includes the information you enter when you sign up to use our site when you register or subscribe to our service. We, hereby state that we won’t sell, share or provide your email ID to any 3rd party services. All the information will be solely kept with Tech Talk and will only be used for sending weekly newsletters or promoting services. Each time you visit our site, we collect the following types of information about you:
  • technical information, such as the IP address of the computer you connected to the Internet, information about your username, browser type and version, time zone, browser insert type and version, operating system and platform, type and name of the mobile device. This information may be collected and processed for our purposes through third party cookies.
  • information about your visit, for example, could be the entire Uniform Resource Locator (URL), the clickstream of your arrival on our website, through our website, and your departure from our website (including date and time information, information you viewed or searched for (including information about which articles you read the most, which categories you accessed the most, page response times, content download errors, visits to specific pages, average number of times articles were viewed on our site, page interaction data, removal methods with these pages to other web sites, information about customer behavior, any telephone number you called or the e-mail address you contacted our customer service representatives.

Contests

We run contests on Tech Talk in partnership with sponsors. To participate in these contests, it requires signing up with email. These emails could be shared with the advertiser solely for their purpose of contacting you directly.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. How long we retain your data?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Tech Talk does provide links to other websites that are not under our direct control. Once you have left Tech Talk and landed on another site, then it’s their privacy policy that comes into action. We won’t be able to control a user’s privacy on another site. We cannot also be held liable/accountable for any loss/damage occurring as a result of activity on another website.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. You should review this Privacy Policy frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we may notify you on our Website, by a blog post, by email, or by any method we determine. The method we chose is at our sole discretion. We will also change the “Last Updated” date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy. Any changes we make to our privacy policy are effective as of this Last Updated date and replace any prior Privacy Policies.
