How to Change Netflix Subtitles: Netflix Lets You Customize Subtitles For your Favorite show. Netflix, the popular streaming service, has made changes to its user interface that are designed to make streaming easier for users. According to a report by The Verge, Netflix has added a feature that allows users to customize the formatting of subtitles while watching a show or a movie in the Netflix app. This is a welcome added level of accessibility that can make watching easier for everyone, given that different users prefer different subtitle styles.

Previously, users could make changes to the size and style of their Netflix subtitles, but only by logging onto Netflix through a web browser and making changes there. Additionally, these changes would be made to the user’s entire account, and could not be made on a show-by-show or movie-by-movie basis. Now, users can make changes based on the specific content they are watching, while they are watching it.

To change subtitles while watching Netflix, users need to open the settings menu by clicking the Settings gear while watching a show or movie. Once in the subtitles settings, users can choose a subtitle size and style, and then exit the menu to enjoy their new subtitles.

    1. Open settings

Assuming you’re already watching a show or movie on Netflix, here’s where things start. First, click down while watching and select the Settings gear to see your options. This opens the subtitles settings submenu.

    1. Change your subtitles size

Now that you’re in the subtitles settings, you can choose a subtitle size and style. First, select a subtitles size. You have three options here: Small, Medium, and Large.

    1. Change your subtitles style

Now, move over from subtitles size to subtitles style and select a subtitles style. You have four options here: Drop Shadow, Dark, Contrast, and Light.

    1. Exit settings

It is important to note that these changes are currently only live on TVs and streaming devices, and are not available on phones. This may be due to the small size of a phone screen limiting Netflix’s options.

In addition to the subtitle feature, Netflix continues to offer a wide selection of popular shows and movies for users to watch at their leisure. Whether users prefer horror movies with 90% or higher on Rotten Tomatoes or shows like Full Swing that may be flying under the radar, there is something for everyone on Netflix.
