Misery loves company, and if you happen to observe issues affixing the latest chipset drivers on your Ryzen platform, take whatever solace you could from acknowledging you are not solitary. Others have run into hurdles too. This is something AMD attempted to address with a fresh chipset driver package, but for some, installation difficulties remain.

So, what’s going on? Users reported complications with AMD’s v2.03.12.10657 chipset driver not installing accurately or utterly. After looking into the complaints, AMD issued a new driver package, v2.04.04.111, that was supposed to handle the installation issues. And it did, but it also appears to have introduced another complication.

According to several complaints placed to ComputerBase’s forum, the latest Rash Of Ryzen Chipset Driver Failures, package affixes some issues and causes more of them. While some users inform ascendency of getting it installed, others have developed that it does not install or update the GPIO driver to the current release. Some people have also posted their complaints about various quirks, like seeing raised CPU power consumption and inappropriate operating voltages.

The site is doing efforts with AMD to solve the problems and is asking that affected users posted the following information in the ongoing forum thread, which would then be forwarded to AMD anonymously…

    • %userprofile%\AMD_Chipset_IODrivers.Log
    • %userprofile%\Device_ID.log
    • c:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev
    • c:\windows\inf\setupapi.log
    • c:\windows\dpinst.log
